40 Days for Life in Seattle

Posted on August 11, 2011

Day and night, sleet or snow, people are praying in front of hundreds of abortion facilities across the country. Forty days for life began in 2007, coordinating prayer vigils twice a year in 337 U.S. cities.  Participants in these prayer vigils have reported 4,313 lives saved as a result of their presence in front of abortion centers. Following these campaigns nine abortion facilities have completely closed down.

The purpose of these bi-annual campaigns is to unite pro-lifers to praying and fasting for an end to abortion focusing on their communities. According to their website, “The mission of the campaign is to bring together the body of Christ in a spirit of unity during a focused 40 day campaign of prayer, fasting, and peaceful activism, with the purpose of repentance, to seek God’s favor to turn hearts and minds from a culture of death to a culture of life, thus bringing an end to abortion in America.”

The next campaign begins on September 26th and ends forty days later on November 6th. This time there will be a campaign in Seattle at the Planned Parenthood on Capitol Hill near Seattle University.

Dates:  September 26 – November 6, 2011
